Vision:
A world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Mission:
Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
Objectives:
Habitat for Humanity builds for people of all backgrounds, races and religions to provide needy families with a simple and decent place to live in.
Activities:
Within Singapore, Habitat is involved in Operation Homeworks, where we clean up the houses of the elderly poor, and help provide adequate household furnishings for families in need.
Habitat for Humanity's Volunteer Programmes are a series of short-term trips designed to provide an educational and spiritual experience within a cross-cultural environment. Examples are Global Village, Batam Build, Project Homeworks, Disaster Response, Special Projects, ST.O.P.Projects.
Beneficiaries:
Families in need of decent shelter apply to local Habitat affiliates. The affiliate's family selection committee chooses homeowners based on their level of need, their willingness to become partners in the program and their ability to repay the no-interest loan. Every affiliate follows a nondiscriminatory policy of family selection. Neither race nor religion is a factor in choosing the families who receive Habitat houses.
